Top XTERRA Warrior Carla Van Huyssteen will be hoping for a third successful title defence on Saturday, 25 January 2014 when she takes on the TOTALSPORTS XTERRA Buffelspoort presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT.
“The Totalsports XTERRA Buffelspoort is a very special race,” says Van Huyssteen. “The route is amazing, while the venue is really beautiful. It is one of the biggest races on the Xterra circuit and one not to be missed. The Totalsports XTERRA Buffelspoort and Totalsports XTERRA Grabouw are both very good events with different technical sections that make each event really difficult and challenging’.
“The Totalsports XTERRA Buffelsoort is a very technical race to start the year off with,” continues Van Huyssteen. “It is a great event to start the season. People should take part in this event because it is unique and features a great run and mountain bike section. The run specifically is a great treat. So far I have managed three consecutive wins, but this year the competition is going to be really tough”.
Van Huyssteen will face tough competition from top Bermudan triathlete Flora Duffy. Duffy recently took gold in the individual woman’s category of the Totalsports Terra Firma Challenge presented by Liberty Medical Scheme and REHIDRAT® SPORT.
