The Cradle Festival

The Cradle Festival

The Cradle Festival

The Leverage Corporation has teamed up with Maropeng, Gauteng Government (Management Authority), and a number of local wine estates to bring you the much anticipated Cradle Festival Twenty Thirteen. Following on last year’s success it will once again be taking place at the amphitheatre in Maropeng, in the heart of The Cradle of Humankind, on the 20th and 21st of April.
And this year it promises to be bigger and better than ever!

This year’s Festival is jam-packed with exciting performances which will be announced shortly. It also coincides with the Cradle Festival Wine Weekend which includes cheese and wine tastings, as well as loads of fun activities and competitions for the whole family to enjoy. The well-equipped kids area and daily kids programme offers parents peace-of-mind and a day-off to spoil themselves and relax while being able to enjoy the live entertainment and delectable cheeses and wines on offer. There is also a Craft Expo allowing exhibitors from the Cradle and surrounding areas to showcase their business and service offerings.

Cradle Mountain Trophy – Magaliesburg mountain biking

Cradle Mountain Trophy

Cradle Mountain Trophy

This two-day mountain biking event promises to be an exhilarating experience and will take place over the weekend of 20th and 21st of April 2013. Based at Maropeng, in the heart of The Cradle of Humankind, the event is one of a kind.

It also forms part of the 2013 Cradle Festival and Wine Weekend.

The Cradle Mountain Trophy promises a fantastic offering of single track, plus some challenging off-road, and of course some good technical aspects. But do remember that we are calling this the “Mountain Trophy” for good reason. It is not all flat. We will be making good use of tracks and trails which have previously been used for private events. On these farms you will be riding amongst some amazing wildlife such as Zebra, Wildebeest and even Rhino.

It’s tough, it’s technical, but if you’re doing either Joburg2C or Sani2C, this is the ideal event to get those legs into shape. In fact, it’s a must and chances are, it’s your last chance.
